山田維史英語俳句:Tadami Yamada's English Haiku Poems (11)
For memories of my pet cat Chongko
My beloved cat
Sleeps her eternal rest at
The root of the loquat
There was no one
To harvest at that house, The branches
are heavily laden with loquats
A plum fruit's
Rolling down
Hill town
Plums falling
The wings flapping
A bird flew
Take off my work clothes
but a long day!
Before evening of Summer solstice
Palette's paints dried
and brushes also immediatery
Summer solstice!
Semimaru-ki (The Anniversary of Semimaru's Death)
This is it, if I would go,
I couldn't return,
farewell to life at the Sanzugawabashi
Narihira-ki (The Anniversary of Narihira's Death)
I lived twenty years longer
than young noble you:
Today's the anniversary of Narihira's death
Awaking of an old man
sleeping alone at the Anniversary
of the death of Narihira
Sleeping alone
a lonely pillow for old me: The anniversary
of the death of Narihira
Old man with bent back
makes a broken haiku at the anniversary
of the death of Narihira
It is the heat
of summer that on the shaft that
I hold with a brush!
Any sound I shut out
from my studio, feel only my heartbeat
Summer heat!
I was struck by the fallen cicada
In an instant, I remembered the past
like a magic lantern
Would you like to come
to my parents' grave with me?
A Buddhist-priest-cicada
I have no picture to draw
A magic lantern that keeps
turning around
Counting the fallen cicadas
and walking forever,
Dark love
The eyes of a child
who sees end of a fallen cicada
is good
In the scorching sun
A mountain temple, the depths woods
Cicadas' gate
Higurashi cries
And the day goes down at night
The first day of August
Higurashi's crying
It's sound is dry
The heat of lingering summer
【*Note】
Higurashi (Tanna japonesis Distant) is the name of
cicada, and means "the day goes down at night" in Japanese.
